ABOUT ME
Wordswork Communications is a full-service freelance writing and editing business that specializes in the agri-food sector.
I'm Lois Harris - the business owner and principal writer, in charge of operations, marketing, scheduling and office cleaning (only mine though, and sporadically). I've been writing and editing for a startling 30+ years.
My mission is pretty straightforward: helping busy people tell their stories, engage their audiences and sell their products.
These days, people want to know not only what's in their food, but how it was made, who made it and the integrity of the producer or manufacturer.
It's also crucial for businesses, governments and universities to have a strong online and social media presence with clearly written, engaging content.
If you need compelling, authentic stories that inform, entertain and enlighten, why not contact me?

JUST PUBLISHED
I've been in communications for more than 30 years - first as a senior advisor in the Ontario government and then with my own business. My specialty is in explaining complex concepts with clear, engaging copy. See examples of my latest work below.

Infographic
I wrote all the copy for this infographic which describes the findings of research conducted by Farm Management Canada into how business management practices can help improve farmers' mental health. I also wrote the social media posts based on this information.

I wrote this case study about two sisters - Victoria and Paula Watts, who built their own Italian pasta and sauce business from the ground up.
Magazine
I wrote all the copy for this promotional magazine. It provides useful management, marketing and other tips for food processors.
I wrote all the copy for this website which describes the philosophy and services of a high technology company that has both multi-national and small business customers. Designed by the blondes branding and design firm.
